The Fjell Dress from The Eli Monster

So much pattern testing this week for me, and the Fjell Dress was at the top of my list!  I have to say that this dress is one of my favorites for the girls. Not only was it a quick and easy sew, but it looks great as is or can be embellished in soooo many different ways.  I chose to add just some trim to the bottom hem for this one, but I can see myself adding a coordinating sash or adding piping to the bodice area in the very near future.

The Eli Monster offers a wide range of fabulous sewing and knitting patterns for adults and children.  You MUST go over there and take a peek!  The Fjell Dress is no exception, and it just sews up so beautifully with easy-to-follow instructions and plenty of photos to help along the way.  Perfect for beginners to the more advanced sewists.  Hurry and race over there now while it’s currently on sale!!

P4P Next Top Tester & Their New FREE Pattern!

Guys. I had so much fun with this last week!

I have been attempting to dip my toe in the water with being a pattern tester, and this was a great place to start.  “Patterns for Pirates” is one of my favorite designers, especially for women’s clothes. They are seriously always on-point with the style and sizing, and I have yet to find one pattern that I don’t love after purchasing.

So, last week they gave anyone a chance to be a pattern tester…like I mean every single person could take part…how amazing is that?!

The Matilda Pattern by Violette Field Threads

I recently made my first “Matilda” from Violette Field Threads, and I have to say I adore this pattern so much!!  It’s such a quick and easy sew with fabulous results, which I LOVE.  And as you can tell by the following photos, my daughter loved it too.   It has the perfect amount of twirl, and the flutter sleeves were just the right touch for my girly-girl.  I love the 3/4 length sleeve option as well, and we will definitely be trying that out in the fall.  Plus, the elastic neckline and waist make it a breeze since I didn’t have to fuss with adding buttons or snap closures.

This dress is perfect for all sorts of cotton woven fabrics.  So, the sky’s the limit on the cuteness factor!  I’m sure I could add some fun embellishments to the hemline or a cute flower to the waistband to spice it up a bit as well.

I have soooo many Violette Field Threads patterns, and they are always my favorites to go back to over and over again.  Their patterns are easy to follow for everyone from beginners to more experienced sewists.  Plus, I always find the sizing and measurements to be on-point for both my girls, and that makes my life So. Much. Easier.  You can find this and many other awesome and adorable Violette Field Thread patterns here.

I think I may add a few of these lovelies to the shop soon in some fun summer fabrics, so keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks!
